Pat Sullivan | Associate Head Coach
Pat Sullivan is in his seventh season as an assistant coach for the Wabash College basketball team and was named associate head coach of the Little Giants' program in July, 2019. He came to Wabash from Defiance College, where he served as an assistant for five season.
Sullivan served as both a graduate and fulltime assistant coach for Wabash head basketball coach Kyle Brumett while working together at Defiance from 2009 to 2014, working as the recruiting coordinator, director of scouting, and assistant director of summer camps for the Yellow Jackets. He also worked with the director of academic support as the study table coordinator for the basketball program and helped organize and run a program for at-risk students.
Sullivan graduated from Denison University in 2009, earning a bachelor of arts while majoring in communications and economics. He played basketball for the Big Red for four seasons, including three as a starting point guard, averaging 6.3 points and 2.6 assists per game. He was selected to the 2008 All-North Coast Athletic Conference Honorable Mention Team after posting a 10.6 points- and 3.6 assists-per-game average. Sullivan ranked among the top-50 players in the nation with an assist-to-turnover average of 1.97, as well. He graduated from Defiance with a masters of education with a sports coaching concentration in 2011.
Brumett and Sullivan combined for an overall record of 85-48 (.639) at Defiance in five seasons, including a 2010 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference championship and NCAA Division III Tournament appearance. The Yellow Jackets shared the HCAC men's basketball title last year with a league mark of 15-3 and an overall record of 20-6.
In addition to his duties as an assistant basketball coach, Sullivan also serves as an assistant to the Wabash Dean of Students Office.
Matthew Richter | Assistant Basketball Coach
Richter joined the Wabash College basketball program in July 2021. He came to the Little Giants from Berry College where he spent three seasons as an assistant coach. The Vikings finished 13-1 in 2020-2021 and finished the season ranked 11th in the D3hoops.com poll. Berry won the Southern Athletic Association regular season and conference tournament in 2021.
The Vikings finished 19-7 overall in Richter’s first season as an assistant for the most wins in a single season in school history since joining the NCAA Division III. Berry repeated the 19-win effort with a 19-9 campaign in 2019-2020 for an overall record of 51-17 over three seasons, the best three-year stretch in school history. Richter helped nine players earn all-conference selections during his time with the Vikings.
Richter spent the 2017-18 season as a video coordinator at the University of New Orleans after serving one season at White River Valley High School as the head junior varsity basketball coach and social studies teacher.
Richter graduated from Butler University in 2016 where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in middle and secondary education. He worked three seasons as a student manager for the Bulldogs, during which the team made a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances and advanced to the Round of 32. Richter also coached the freshman basketball team at Bishop Chatard while he was a student at Butler. He earned an MBA from the Campbell School of Business at Berry in 2021. Richter's grandfather, Walter Williams, graduated from Wabash in 1948.
Ron Henricks | Assistant Basketball Coach
Ron Henricks begins his 18th season at Wabash after a lengthy career as a high school basketball coach. He was most recently the varsity assistant at Greencastle High School from 1995-1998. Prior to that Henricks has served as head coach at South Vermillion (1972-76), Brownstown Central (1976-80), Southmont (198-89), and North Montgomery High Schools (1992-93). He guided South Vermillion to the school's only conference championship and led Southmont to a pair of conference and county titles.
An Indiana State University graduate, he earned both his bachelors and masters degrees from ISU. Now a retired guidance counselor, Henricks and his wife, Tina, have a daughter (Julie) and two grandsons.
